This course offers an engaging exploration of the Farewell Sermon (Khutbat al-Wada’) delivered by the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ during his final pilgrimage. More than a historical address, the sermon presents enduring guidance on justice, human dignity, ethics, social responsibility, and community life. Through close study of the sermon’s themes, students will examine topics such as the sanctity of life and wealth, economic fairness, family and interpersonal rights, equality among people, and the foundations of a principled society.

Mawlana Asif Zia Uddin completed his ḥifẓ of the Qurʾān at age 15 and graduated from the ʿĀlimiyyah program at the Institute of Islamic Education in 2012, specializing in Arabic and Islamic sciences. He holds an undergraduate degree in Education from Benedictine University and has taught in both Islamic and public school settings. Mawlāna Asif has received ijāzah in multiple modes of Qurʾān recitation and continues advanced study at Darul Qasim College under Shaykh Amin Kholwadia. He is also a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and founder of Integrative Shifa, integrating Islamic principles with holistic health.
Mawlana Umar Ahmadis a graduate of the Advanced Program at Darul Qasim College and currently serves as a faculty member here, teaching Hadith and Tajwid. He completed the memorization of the Qur’an at the Institute of Islamic Education (IIE) and has received ijazah in the recitation of Hafs from Mawlana Arif Kamal and Shaykh Mahmoud Akkawi, with whom he is presently pursuing advanced studies in the ten Qira’at. Alongside his academic and teaching commitments, he works professionally as an Oracle Database Administrator.
