Course Instructors

Mawlānā Bilal Ali holds a BA in Applied Behavioral Sciences, with a focus on adult learning, and completed his Dars Niẓāmī and ʿĀlimiyyah studies in Pakistan at Jāmiʿat al-Ḥasanayn and Jāmiʿat Dār al-ʿUlūm Karachi, receiving ijāzah in ḥadīth from senior scholars including Mufti Muḥammad Taqī ʿUthmānī. He has continued advanced studies in kalām, uṣūl al-fiqh, and Islamic philosophy under Shaykh Mohammed Amin Kholwadia at Darul Qasim. His research interests include early ḥadīth methodology, Ḥanafī legal theory, education, mental health, and Islamic bioethics. He currently teaches Arabic, Islamic Law, and Hadith Studies.

Mawlana Asif Zia Uddin completed his ḥifẓ of the Qurʾān at age 15 and graduated from the ʿĀlimiyyah program at the Institute of Islamic Education in 2012, specializing in Arabic and Islamic sciences. He holds an undergraduate degree in Education from Benedictine University and has taught in both Islamic and public school settings. Mawlāna Asif has received ijāzah in multiple modes of Qurʾān recitation and continues advanced study at Darul Qasim College under Shaykh Amin Kholwadia. He is also a graduate of the Institute for Integrative Nutrition and founder of Integrative Shifa, integrating Islamic principles with holistic health.

Is this suitable for international students?

MARS courses have been designed and scheduled with the international student in mind. Several courses have multiple time options to accommodate different global time zones for students living in the Middle East, South Asia, Africa, UK, and Turkey.

How much time commitment?

MARS courses are designed for the busy professional, student on the go, or even stay at home mom who is struggling to find an Islamic studies course that is manageable, but doesn’t compromise on content and quality of instruction. There is no homework. The average student will be committing about 2 hours per week.
