The Summer Program at Darul Qasim College offers students the opportunity to immerse themselves in the study of Islam through a focused, short term running from June 8 to July 17, 2026. Whether online or in person, students can choose from a selection of courses that build a strong foundation in the essential Islamic sciences.
With the flexibility to register for one to five courses, participants can tailor their learning experience to their interests and schedule. Courses are offered online or on campus, with no hybrid options available.
Whether you are new to Islamic studies or looking to strengthen your academic grounding, this summer experience offers a meaningful way to grow in both knowledge and understanding.

Explore the Forty Hadith of Imam al-Nawawī and uncover their timeless guidance.
Learn the tafsīr of selected short sūrahs and deepen your understanding of the Qur’anic message.
Gain foundational skills in Arabic to read, comprehend, and engage with Islamic texts.
Understand the principles of fiqh and the reasoning behind Islamic legal rulings. Study the core beliefs of Islam and the essential concepts of ʿaqīdah.
Overview: Explore the essential teachings of Islam through Imam al-Nawawī’s renowned collection of 40 hadith commonly known as al-Arbaʿīn al-Nawawiyyah. This course covers this carefully selected compilation of prophetic teachings that cover the foundational principles of living life as a Muslim, ranging from beliefs and worship to manners and morals. Participants in this course will not only study the text of each hadith but also address their practical applications in daily life. The course aims to connect students with the profound wisdom and teachings of the Prophet Muḥammad (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), encouraging them to model their lives according to the sunnah. Through detailed explanations and guided practical steps, students will deepen their understanding of Islamic fundamentals and learn how to implement these teachings in their everyday actions.

Overview: Throughout the duration of this course, we will conduct an in-depth study of the last ten chapters of the Holy Qur’ān. Through our learning we aim to cover the essential commentary of each verse and further understand the translation of each word of these chapters. After the completion of this course, students will have learned fundamental lessons derived from the chapters of the Qur’ān that enables them to gain a newfound appreciation for these often-recited verses.

SUMQUR: In person Offering
O-SUMQUR: Online Offering
Overview: Theoretical grammar concepts will be learnt through “Ten Lessons of Arabic,” whereas the readings will use “Lessons in the Arabic Language for non-native speakers [Durūs al-Lughah al-‘Arabiyyah li Ghayr al-Nāṭiqīn bi-hā].” Class-time will be distributed between the two texts. Students are expected to complete daily assignments and weekly assessments. During the second half of the course, students will be formed into groups and tasked with re-teaching the grammar lessons learnt.

Prerequisites:Strong ability to fluently read from the Muṣḥaf and navigate relatively heavy theoretical (kullī) and practical (juz’ī) learning.

Overview: This course explores Ḥanafī jurisprudence through the classical text Marāqī al-Saʿādāt, authored by Abū al-Ikhlāṣ al-Shurunbulālī (d. 1069/1659). Students will acquire a fundamental understanding of the Pillars of Islām while engaging with frequently asked questions about Islamic jurisprudence, applying classical Ḥanafī principles to both foundational concepts and practical scenarios. Through this study, participants will build a strong grounding in Ḥanafī law and its relevance to contemporary contexts.

Overview: This course will cover the Islamic creed al-Fiqh al-Akbar attributed to Abū Ḥanīfah (d. 150/767). The objective of the course is to cover the whole creed with translation and commentary and to give the student a basic understanding of the Islamic creed.

Required Course Materials:For supplementary reading students can use Imam Abu Ḥanīfah’s Al-Fiqh al-Akbar explained by Abdur-Rahman ibn Yusuf published by White Thread Press.
