Course Name: Basic Islamic Law
The course will cover a thorough of the popular Ḥanafī primer, Marāqī al-Saʿādāt by Abū ‘l-Ikhlāṣ Ḥasan al-Shurunbulālī. The students will study 4 out of the 5 pillars of Islam, namely Ṣalāt (ritual prayers), Zakāt (charity), Ṣawm (fasting), and Ḥajj (pilgrimage). Each section will concentrate on understanding the fundamentals and applying the knowledge to various contemporary situations.
