Mawlana Atiq Taiyab completed his hifz at the age of sixteen. He studied Arabic grammar, morphololgy, literature, and composition under Mawlana Aziz Ahmed, a graduate of Darul Uloom Deoband and Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama. He then pursued studies at the Darul Uloom Zakariyya in South Africa for a year.
In his quest for an environment that emphasized Arabic immersion, he enrolled into the Madrasa Ibn Abbas in Karachi, an institute known for enforcing a strict Arabic-only environment on campus. During his time there, he studied Insha (composition) directly under his teacher Shaykh Abdul Mu’iz Al-Tunisi who taught from a book he authored himself. Mawlana Atiq also studied seerah there from Shayh Hamdani al-Tunisi.
In 2015, he joined the last year of the Intermediate Program at Darul Qasim and has since graduated from the Intermediate and Advanced programs. He studied Bukhari with Shaykh Amin Kholawadia. His appreciation for Kalam (Islamic Theology) motivates him to continue a specialization course in the field under the guidance of Shaykh Amin and Dr. Muhammad Stodolsky.
Mawlana Atiq has served as Imam at the MSI mosque in Glendale Heights and has had various teaching engagements and outreach engagements in particular with the community youth amongst whom he is well-loved.
